I’m thinking of this clutch/crossbody bag kind of like my new backpack for the school year. I’ve always taken a larger size clutch to work with me every day with my essentials in it. The clutch gets thrown in my main purse when I run errands. This system has worked for me for years and I had been carrying the same tan and coral leather clutch from Gap for the last four or so years. The zipper died so I was on the hunt for a replacement. Marley Lilly was having a sale on this Uptown Tassel Monogram Clutch and it was perfect timing. I love that it’s monogrammed, obviously. The size is perfect and the removable crossbody chain is very convenient. The tassel is pretty amazing too.
I want to update our living room pillows to give the space a fresh look. I’m also lusting after anything kelly green lately and knew I wanted to incorporate the color into the room with pillows. Since I’m not prepared to give up my teal curtains and teal dresser I needed to keep that color involved too. I poured over the internet for more hours than I’d like to admit and couldn’t find a thing I liked. Then I was putting something away in the closet in my office/craft room and the yard of this Santa Maria fabric I purchased two years ago just because I liked it jumped out at me. My solution was there the entire time! I’m going to recover a few of our existing pillows with the fabric and pair it with solid green and black and white stripe. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely be sharing the finished product.
One of my Summer Bucket List items was to read a bunch of books about nothing. I definitely did that. And then I downloaded The Girl on the Train on my Kindle and couldn’t put it down. I typically only read during the summer when sitting on the beach but, I found myself reading this book before bed, while Hubs was watching sports and really any chance I could get. I highly recommend it.
I have to admit, I don’t actually have these Toms booties in my possession yet but, they are on their way to me. I spotted them in the Toms catalog a few weeks ago and fell in love. I had been searching for a pair of versatile booties with a practical heel that isn’t too high all fall and winter last year and never found THE pair. I’m really, really hoping these work for me!
It’s September (yay!) and in a few weeks I’ll be trading my anchors out for pumpkins. I love these half pumpkins Michael’s has this year. They’re perfect for hanging on the back of a door or as part of decor on a shelf. I can’t wait to style mine when I break out my pumpkins and fall decor this year. Stay tuned!
What are you loving for September?
