I’m not going to pretend that every week it is easy to find five positive things. This week was especially hard. While some of you experienced record breaking snow totals we had record breaking flooding. That isn’t good for little shore towns here. I did my best to find the silver lining in those storm clouds.
Thank goodness for dunes. If it wasn’t for them, my grandmother’s house along with many others would have been washed away. Those dunes experienced some damage and erosion (as you can see in that picture above) but through the beating they still stood strong to protect my favorite little island, Stone Harbor.
I’ve found myself with a lot of unplanned free time on my hands thanks to flooding damage at work. Don’t worry though, I’ve perfected #netflixandchill. I finished my binge (no pun intended) on Nurse Jackie and have moved on to Chelsea Handlers new series. Do they need a poster girl for #netflixandchill? I would totally represent.
I love adding a few Valentine’s touches this time of year to our decorating. I mean, when else can I decorate with pink in the living room? It’s time to hang up my most favorite wreath ever. I just love seeing it on our front door this time of year.
Never can we ever have a lunch date on a Tuesday thanks to our work schedules. This week we were able to. Taking advantage of this staycation as best we can.
It has been so comforting to see all the Owen’s Pub love on our Facebook page while we’re busy cleaning up and renovating as fast as we can to reopen after Saturday’s flooding. All the love makes me so proud. When you work at someone’s “favorite place on Earth” you know you’re doing something right.
I’d love to hear the positive form your week! Share them using #FridayFivewithBecka
